WIREGRASS (WDHN) — Around the Wiregrass, residents are gearing up for those triple-digit temperatures, as heatwaves are already fuming from the asphalt.

Workers such as James Coffey and his construction crew are doing some demolition work on a building on Foster Street in downtown Dothan.

And even though they have air conditioning in their place of work, the heat still makes an impact, making Coffey more alert of his workers and making sure they are properly hydrated.

“The most important thing is their safety. Make sure they stay hydrated and drink plenty of water and take breaks during the times they feel fatigued,” says Coffey.

He says they’re ready for the inclement heat, they will just have to add a few more water breaks to their work schedule.
