ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — Things are starting to go vertical at the construction site of the state veteran’s home in Enterprise.
The actual buildings are now appearing on the 108-acre site off State Highway 51.
Once complete in late 2024 or early ’25. It will be the fifth Va home in Alabama, and
The only one in this portion of the state.
Local officials say recent “Heavy rain” has slowed construction, but the project is right on time.
The city is helping with building roads into the site.
The nursing home will be named after the late Command Sergeant Major Bennie G. Adkins, who was highly decorated and wounded during the Vietnam war.
It will eventually be home to 175 veterans and employ more than 200 area residents.
