COFFEE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — After severe storms damaged parts of the Zion Chapel School in Coffee County on Thursday, students will return to campus starting tomorrow.
Classes were held virtually on Friday after the building sustained some extensive damages from Thursday night’s storm.
Coffee County Superintendent Kelly Cobb says that necessary repairs have been completed for students to safely return to school on Tuesday, January 17.
The school will resume the normal hours, bus routes, and child drop-off/pick-up times.
Clean-up crews and roofing crews worked throughout the weekend to prepare the school for a class on Tuesday.
“After final evaluations of our campus today, we are safe to resume school Tuesday, January 17th. Thank you again for your patience throughout this process. We look forward to seeing everyone back on campus tomorrow,” a Facebook post made by Zion Chapel School.
