DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — After Gov. Ivey’s loosened restrictions of the ‘Safer-at-home’ order, bars are now able to open up for business.
After about two months, Thirsty Pig pub welcomed in customers with open arms. Although the bar is open, they are still taking safety precautions such as staff wearing masks, bar stools separated, and sanitizing tables and touchpoints between each customer.
The bar has to put in a little more work than usual to continue fighting COVID-19, however, they are happy for a start to get the business back going.
“Our bar is like a social gathering place. It worked a little bit with people picking up beer to go, but it just wasn’t the same vibe. So, having people back in is fantastic it’s a little different but it feels like we’re heading back to a new normal.” Owner Kerry Farrell said.
As of right now, the bar has modified hours. The bar is open from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
