UPDATE: Suspect identified by Police following Saturday shooting in Baptist Bottom area of Dothan

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A suspect has been identified in Saturday night’s shooting on Blackshear street.

Spencer Lamont Trawick Jr., 24, has been charged on five counts including, first-degree assault, two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, and second-degree promoting prison contraband.

Trawick is currently in the Houston County Jail. His combined bond for all charges comes to $65,200.


DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A man was taken into police custody following Saturday night’s shooting on Blackshear Street.

After a preliminary investigation overnight, Dothan Police K9 apprehended a suspect in the shooting, a police spokesperson said. Investigators reviewed crime scene data and conducted interviews related to the crime.

The suspect has not been identified by Dothan Police, and formal charges have not been filed.

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) – One person was transported to the hospital following a shooting in Dothan Saturday night.

An alert from Dothan Police dispatch indicated a shooting happened in the 800 Block of Blackshear Street, near the intersection of Tacoma Street. Police and EMS arrived on the scene a short time later.

Initial reports indicate a 36-year-old man was shot in the stomach, but the condition of the victim is not known. He was taken to a local hospital.

A possible suspect has been identified by police.
