ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — During a special called meeting Thursday evening, the Enterprise City Schools Board of Education named its new leader.

Dr. Zel Thomas, who has worked in the system for over 20 years, was selected as the system’s new superintendent. Thomas has worked as assistant superintendent and the Student Service Coordinator for ECS previously.

Thomas was chosen from a group of four finalists for the top education position.

Superintendent Greg Fought announced his retirement from Enterprise City Schools in late March.
