DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — A district attorney chief investigator is on administrative leave after allegations that he used excessive force last month.

Jay Henry, who recently ran for Henry County Sheriff, was placed on paid leave after the arrest of a man who led officers on a two-county chase in June, according to Houston and Henry County District Attorney Pat Jones.

Jones says that officers have complained Henry struck the suspect after he was detained from the chase.

The State Bureau of Investigation is looking into the matter.
