UPDATE: One person shot, Ashford man charged with attempted murder

ASHFORD, Ala. (WDHN) — An Ashford man has been arrested for the shooting of a person on Wednesday night, according to a press release.

Deputies with Houston County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call around 8 p.m. of a firearm assault at the 200 Block of Meadows Road.

The offender who was later identified as Mekhi Rajan Telfair, 23, drove by the victims house and words were exchanged between the victim and Telfair.

Telfair drove down the road then came back to the same home and exited his vehicle, the victim stepped off the porch toward Telfair as they continued to exchanged words.

Telfair pulled a handgun from behind his back and shot the victim two times and fled the scene, police say.

Telfair was located a short time later and taken into custody with a bond of $60,000.00 and charged with attempted murder.

ASHFORD, Ala. (WDHN) — The Houston County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left one person with multiple gunshot wounds and another two people in custody.

Around 8 p.m. police responded to a shooting on Meadow Drive in Ashford. There, they found a victim with several gunshot wounds.

According to a source close to the investigation, the victim has been transported to a hospital in Pensacola.

At last report, police had two suspects in custody and were conducting interviews.
