Operation Green Light is an unidentified company looking to possibly set up a plant in Geneva

GENEVA, Ala. (WDHN) — A secret economic development project is in the works in Geneva.

At the Geneva City Council meeting on Monday night, Mayor David Hayes said negotiations with an unnamed company have been moving forward with a possible announcement in the near future.

Mayor Hayes says the prospective company is being dubbed “Operation Green Light” to keep other
cities and counties’ from possibly trying to recruit the business to their community.

Mayor Hayes has not released any information about what the company manufacturers, or where it would be located.

He does say it initially would bring 50 good-paying jobs to the City of Two Rivers.

The mayor along with other local and state leaders are expected to further discuss the possibility of Operation Green Light choosing Geneva.
