DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN)— An Ozark man was arrested and charged with arson after a home and vehicle fire.

Ozark Police Department, Ozark Fire Department, and Ewell Volunteer Fire Department responded to a Coleman Drive on August 10th, in regard to a vehicle and residence fire.

Upon the officer’s arrival, the owner of the vehicle and residence was attempting to extinguish the fires. The extent of the damage is unknown.

After an investigation by the Ozark Police Department, it was determined both the vehicle and residence fires were intentionally set, and James McDaniel, 60, of Ozark, was named the prime suspect.

McDaniel was promptly located and interviewed. During the interview, McDaniel confessed to setting the fire and was arrested and charged with Arson in the first degree.
