Ozark motorcycle club raises money to support the kids in the community

OZARK, Ala. (WDHN) — For a few years now, the Infidels Motorcycle Club has held a poker run in order to raise money for the Boys and Girls Club of Ozark, and Wednesday afternoon they presented the club with a check.

The Boys and Girls Club has not had a fundraiser in two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic and is grateful for the money raised by the motorcycle club.

In years past the funds would benefit the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) but as the Infidels President, Jim Gillhouse said, they wanted to help support the youth in the community.

“We all made a decision that basically kids are the future and both of those organizations, both the DAV and VFW also get federal funding and the Boys and Girls Club doesn’t,” Gillhouse said.

The Infidels raised $2,212 for the Boys and Girls Club and Club’s Executive Director, Jessica Moore said they plan to use those funds for their afternoon school program.
