HEADLAND, Ala. (WDHN) — A body was found in south Headland on Tuesday afternoon and it is believed to be Aaron Vinson, a man who has been missing since July.

Two four-wheelers were driving in this field in Headland and while they were riding around they saw a dead body so they called authorities to come and check out the scene. When authorities arrived they found a severely decomposed body.

After further investigation, they found two bags of belongings. Once they went through the articles, they notified the next of kin.

Sources tell WDHN that, based on those belongings, the body is believed to be Aaron Vinson.

Vinson was last seen on July 4th by his father. His family has been frantically looking for him since September, making fliers, calling friends, and asking if anyone had seen him or heard from him.

“My mom, my sister, and I are all worried sick about him,” Brother of Aaron Vinson, Alex Vinson said.

The family worries about what happened to Vinson, they say he was not the type of person to harm anyone or be away for so long.

The cause of death is unclear, but, as of right now, there’s nothing to indicate that foul play was involved.

Headland police are still investigating this case and have sent the body to forensics for more information on the time frame and the cause of death.
