DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The season to buy pumpkins is on the horizon and one church in the Wiregrass is providing a place where residents can purchase their pumpkins for their upcoming festivities.
First United Methodist Church of Dothan started their pumpkin patch on Monday and it will last through the whole month of October. The pumpkin patch will be open Monday to Friday from 10:00 A.M to 6 P.M.
The pumpkin patch will be open on Saturdays from 9:00 A.M. to 7 P.M. On Sundays, the pumpkin patch will be open from 12 P.M. to 6 P.M.
According to Robbie Amunds, the Youth Director of First United Methodist Church of Dothan, the proceeds from the pumpkin patch will go towards ministries in the church and to The Harbor, a local ministry in Dothan.
“This year we are adding some other ministries as well so this pumpkin patch is going to support our children’s ministry, our tween’s ministry, our youth ministry, as well as the mission and our weekday ministry and of course the harbor downtown, “Amunds said. “We do a lot with them so a lot of proceeds goes with The Harbor downtown.”
Amunds said on top of purchasing pumpkins people can take pictures in the pumpkin patch for free.
