Scarecrows invading the Dothan Botanical Gardens

News

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Things are about to get spooky at the Dothan Botanical Gardens.

Starting on Wednesday, October 1, the garden will kick off their 17th annual Scarecrows at the Garden event.

This year’s theme is ‘Everyday is a Holiday.’ Scarecrows will represent the many different holidays and celebrations. From Halloween to National Fishing Day, even National Dance Like A Chicken Day — yes, that is a real day! The scarecrows will be a reflection of them.

This will be on display for the entire month of October. Also, there will be a free open house from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on October 3.

Executive Director William Hollman believes this is the best event to follow CDC guidelines. With it being outdoors, it will allow them to practice social distancing.

He welcome’s everyone to come out in October to enjoy the scarecrows with them. To see a full list of all the holidays for every day of the year, click here.
