Sheriff’s Office: single-engine plane down near Ozark

OZARK, Ala. (WDHN) —  Dale County authorities responded to an aviation mishap near Ozark-Blackwell Field Airport off Highway 231 Tuesday evening.

A spokesperson with the Dale County Sheriff’s Office said a single engine plane went down in a grassy area, causing damage to the aircraft.  The plane ran into trouble just before 8 p.m.  

Photos and video from the scene provided to WDHN News showed the plane upside down in a field. No one was injured.

The Federal Aviation Administration or the National Transportation Safety Board will take over the investigation into what led to the incident.
