DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The “Love Your Neighborhood” program has been a big help in beautifying Dothan neighborhoods and the city has now announced its next clean-up event.

The city of Dothan will be holding its sixth clean-up event on Saturday, November 20. The designated clean-up will be located in the Sullivan Heights neighborhood. Citizens are encouraged to sign up if they need any yard work done.

The city needs volunteers to help pick up excess tree debris in yards, and even unwanted items such as old washing machines. Community Relations Officer for the city of Dothan, Vincent Vincent, said this also helps keep the city and the residents connected.

“We want people to love your city and within the love your neighborhood program, it’s just a way that citizens can show that they care about their neighborhoods they care about their town,” Vincent said. “They want to keep things up and looking good.”

He tells WDHN this program helps to attract bigger businesses and industries to Dothan.
