JACKSON COUNTY, Fla (WDHN) –On Friday, May 26, at around 12:30 p.m., the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office received a call about a 38-year-old out-of-town diver in distress in the Blue Springs caves.

According to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office, Cave Adventures owner and professional cave diver, Edd Sorenson, and his dive team were able to reach the male victim not long after the call came in, but the diver was already dead.

JCSO Public Information Officer Ramsey Ramero says a preliminary investigation has led the department to believe it was accidental drowning.

No further information has been released.
