DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN)— A former Fort Gordon soldier has been sentenced to federal prison for the distribution of child pornography.
Joshua Gamble, 30, of Fort Gordon, GA, has been sentenced to 15 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to the Distribution of Child Pornography. U.S District Court Chief Judge J. Randal Hall also ordered Gamble to pay a fine of $5,000, serve 20 years of supervised release after completeing his prison sentence and register as a sex offender. There is no parole in the federal prison system.
“Joshua Gamble could have served honorably in the military, but instead served his own depravity by using the internet to exploit vulnerable children,” said U.S Attorney David H. Estes in a press release.
Following an FBI investigation and search of Gamble’s room in the Fort Gordon barracks, agents arrested Gamble in October 2021.
During the investigation it was determined, prior to joining the military in May 2021, Gamble worked as a middle-school paraprofessional in Minnesota.
