PIKE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — The search for the body of a Florida murder victim in Pike County has been stalled.

Police from St. Petersburg are searching for a 17-year-old murder victim killed in St. Peterburg, Florida a decade ago, who may have been buried here in the Wiregrass.

The search has been stalled after the police found no remains after searching areas in Pike County multiple times.

Both Alabama and Pike County authorities are now waiting for more information from St. Peterburg Police on where they remain may be located.

If local and state authorities receive new information, the search will begin again.

In the Summer of 2012, police say Morgan Martin was murdered in Florida, and her body was buried on a farm off U.S. Highway 231, south of Brundidge.

Last month, the victim’s boyfriend at the time of her disappearance, Jacobee Flowers, changed his not guilty plea to guilty of second-degree murder. He is reportedly providing information to authorities about where the body is buried.
