HOUSTON COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — The town of Taylor held its annual military appreciation festival.

The festival featured a retirement of the flag ceremony, live entertainment, food trucks, and fun for the kids.

Veterans and military supporters came out to celebrate, show appreciation for soldiers who unfortunately didn’t make it back home, and make generous donations.

Commander Brandon Bagwell said a good portion of the proceeds will help local veterans who are disabled.

“We have a lot of veterans in this community some of them are homeless so we team up with DAV and American Legion to help our veterans around,” Bagwell said.

The festival will last until 8 pm.

If you can’t make it, but still want to support, you can drop by VFW post 3073 and make a donation.
