HOUSTON COUNTY (WDHN) — New information has been released on Monday’s homicide that occurred on Highway 84 in front of Home Oil in Cowarts.
Houston County Sheriff Donald Valenza held a press conference to address more details of the homicide. According to Sheriff Valenza, four individuals were in a car headed eastbound when gunfire erupted.
The investigation has led to the arrest of three suspects Richard Wayne Thomas II, 18, of Dothan, Jihad Amir Huntington, 18, and Johnnie Kasheem Settle, 26, who was taken in early Friday afternoon.
“The vehicle that was involved was found in Montgomery. It is being brought back for forensic processing. Our victim, Keontre Whatley, was taken to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences,” Sheriff Valenza said.
All three suspects are being charged with capital murder and are in the Houston County Jail with no bond. The investigation is still ongoing.
