DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The Dothan High School Student Section was recognized during the Alabama High School Athletic’s Association’s (AHSAA) Super 7 State Football Championship at Jordan Hare Stadium in Auburn.
Dothan High School Senior, Colin Groover, and Dothan High School Principal, Dr. Keith Bland, were given a banner to hang at the school as well as a $1,000 check to be used for DHS.
This year, the student body really came together and worked as one in our student section. We all worked very hard to be able to win this challenge. The Bama Buzz says that DHS Wolfpack Pride is “electric” and that they showed incredible organization, creativity, sportsmanship, and support for their school which is shown in their video submission.
We, at Dothan High School, have a spirit that is born from our pride in being part of such a great school and community. Our positive spirit not only comes from our students but also our staff. We are so proud of the efforts of our student body to show the entire state that being a part of the pack is a special feeling that fosters our school spirit. As ALPHA wolves, we desire to establish a good name through our spirit, actions and service. Through the collaboration between AHSAA and The Bama Buzz, This was the first fan challenge to find the best student section in Alabama. A total of 34 schools in the state submitted videos displaying their school spirt, sportsmanship, and creativity.
Dothan High School moved in the final phase of the contest by being recognized as the 7A Semifinalist.
