Suicide Prevention Walk: Melissa Freeman talks about upcoming event

Wake Up Wiregrass

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — Melissa Freeman talks about the importance of recognizing if a family member or loved one is suicidal.

Freeman’s father committed suicide and she is now working with the 334 Prevention Project and the “Wiregrass Out of the Darkness Walk” to bring awareness to the community.

Freeman sat down with Wake Up Wiregrass anchors Katrice Nolan and Michael Rinker about the importance of the walk. The walk will happen Sunday, October 3, 2021 at the National Peanut Festival Midway starting at 1:00 p.m-3:00 p.m.

The money raised will also benefit the Alabama Chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
