DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — Next Thursday, Youth Value Impact with the Mount Olive Christian Fellowship Church will host a Black Tie Gala at the Dothan Botanical Gardens.

Youth Value Impact aims to raise money for a brand new community center that the church is building.

The goal of the Gala is to raise $300,000 and already has Dothan mayor, Mark Saliba and former mayor and local businessman, Mike Schmitz on board.

The gala takes place the night of August 4th at the Dothan Botanical Gardens and tickets are $250 and can be purchased by calling 334-718-6304!

The community center will offer afterschool tutoring, exercise classes, tech courses for seniors as well as a mentorship program for children.

“We’ve been serving our community through feeding the youth at Risk Youth for the last 13 years, and so we are in the process of constructing a new community center so we are throwing this black tie gala. So that we can honor the people in our community and give back and also raise funds which will go towards the construction of the community center,” said Ivory Stinson, Mount Olive Christian Fellowship Church Secretary.
