Troy University’s athletic director talks Trojan football

DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — The football seasons starts September fourth for Troy when they take on Southern University at home.

Tuesday, Brent Jones the Director of Athletics at Troy, joined WDHN Daytime to promote the upcoming season and to talk about why the team is ready to take off.

For fans who are excited to watch some football and are looking to head out to Veterans Memorial Stadium, you can purchase tickets here!

Jones also talked about the COVID-19 protocols fans can expect at the stadium. As of now, Troy has not set in place and mask mandate which follows state guidelines. However, the university will be ready to change anything to follow suit with state, city and local provisions.

Outside of Trojan football, Jones talked about the potential slide in the college landscape in terms of potential changes to college football conferences. Of which, he promoted the Sun Belt and stated how the league has grown so quickly.
