Weekend in the Wiregrass: where you can go to enjoy the beautiful weather and support your local businesses

News

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — With a beautiful weekend forecast, WDHN travelled all across the Wiregrass to find some perfect weekend activities you can do while social distancing and helping local businesses and organizations.

What better way to start your morning than by taking a walk at Westgate Park? With paved and dirt trails, you can bike or walk your way to fitness. Plus, thanks to the outdoor fitness center, you can challenge yourself while remaining socially distant from other exercisers.

Not a morning person? No problem. An afternoon walk at the Dothan Area Botanical Gardens can let you experience nature while getting your steps in. Plus, now that the rain has moved out, you can show your love to your valentine by leaving a lock on the lock gate and throwing away the key, signifying your forever love.

Want to spend your day at home but have a fun night out on the town? The Star-Lite Drive-in has you covered. This weekend the theater is showing eight different films. Concessions, the comfort of your own vehicle and a good film equals a relaxing Saturday night.

But if you’d rather go on an adventure, you can stop by Adventureland Theme Park. There, you can golf, sharpen up your batting skills, or even race via the go carts.

Whatever you decide to do, enjoy your weekend of beautiful weather here in the Wiregrass.
