DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The Wiregrass United Way kicked off its campaign event with its annual Pacesetter Tuesday morning.
Over 200 volunteers were at 18 stations packaging over 40,000 meals for the Wiregrass Food Bank.
The food that is packed by these volunteers is then dispersed throughout the community to families in need.
At the event, the Wiregrass United Way also announced their campaign goal for this year which is $2,777,777.77 cents — the lucky 7.
If and when the Wiregrass United Way meets this goal, the Wiregrass Foundation will give the United Way $400,000.
All of those dollars will help the six counties in the Wiregrass that they serve.
