DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The Wiregrass United Way fundraising campaign has already surpassed half of its goal. Since the kickoff about a month ago, almost $1.5 million has been raised, that’s about 54 % of the $2.75 million goals.

The United Way is an organization that helps fund 38 agencies within them, enabling them to provide valuable services to those in need.

And as Wiregrass United Way CEO, Walter Hill says, the help from the community is what the united way is all about.

“The United Way method of raising money is asking everybody to give something and then united, we come together to make a difference in our community and make these agencies be able to operate for the whole next year,” Hill said. “That’s what it’s all about.”

The United Way hopes to reach its goal by the end of the year. If you would like to donate, you can visit their office at 304 N Foster Street in Dothan.
