ORLANDO, Fla (WDHN) — The Troy Trojans are celebrating after taking down the University of Texas at San Antonio in the Cure Bowl.

What an incredible way to cap taking down UTSA 18-12 in the Cure Bowl. The team will finish 12-2 and will be ranked at the end of a season for the first time in program history and this is all in year one of coach Jon Sumrall where does this team rank all-time in troy football history?

“We are the best troy team of all time…Thank you.” said Wide Receiver Rajae’ Johnson.

This team is in that conversation but it didn’t come easy Friday against UTSA they were outgained in this one, trailing for the majority of the game even while the defense was playing.
At a high level, at one point forcing four straight UTSA turnovers but the offense only scored on one of those.

That was the KJ Robertson interception in the 3rd quarter which flipped the field and not only helped Troy take the lead but it earned the senior linebacker the Cure Bowl MVP.

Quarterback Gunnar Watson ended up connecting with Rajae Johnson after the interception to give the Trojans a 15-12 lead after a successful two point conversion.

Troy finishes the season at 12-2, the most wins in the programs’ FBS history and they will be ranked to end the year for the first time in school history.
