Marianne, Ala (WDHN) — Former Troy baseball coach, Bobby Pierced has accepted an assistant position with Chipola College.
Pierce spent 13 years managing Trojans’ baseball where he won 450 games and two regular season Sun-Belt titles.
As a member of the Troy University Athletics Hall of Fame, Pierce also holds the most wins by any manager in baseball history before retiring in 2015.
Now the skipper comes out of retirement to take a gig in his hometown, for a school that begun his coaching career in the 80s.
In his stint as a manager with Chipola, he recorded an impressive record of 259-92. The University of Alabama alum would then take a position with his old school after.
Pierce also played for Crimson Tide baseball where he was an All-SEC outfielder in the early 80s.
