DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) — In an email, Northside Methodist announced Friday that their head football coach, Jason Hurst, stepped down from that position.
The school said the move was made due to personal reasons and that Hurst asked for privacy at this time.
In his three seasons at Northside, Hurst led the knights to a 13-20 record, making the playoffs his first two seasons.
Northside was ineligible this past season after the school moved from the AISA to the AHSAA. In 2020, the Knights posted a 5-6 record and won their first AHSAA level game in their first matchup of the season.
Also this past season, Hurst led Northside Methodist to breaking the school record for points scored in a single season with 362 points scored.
The school made no announcement as to who will be taking over as head coach.
