WIREGRASS, Ala. (WDHN) — Wiregrass baseball teams were in action all over Alabama for round one of the AHSAA Baseball Playoffs.
Wicksburg swept Luverne 12-2, 15-0.
Headland dropped game one to Greenville 3-1, but the Rams dominated the Tigers 14-3 in game two.
The tiebreak game will be played at Douglas Park in Headland on Saturday at 11 a.m.
Geneva hosted Hale County won game one 4-3 and lost game two 7-2. The tiebreak game is set for Saturday at 1 p.m. in Geneva.
Slocomb won game one on the road at Bibb County 3-1 and lost game two 10-0. Game three is on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Prattville Christian swept New Brockton 3-0, 11-5 ending the Gamecocks season.
Houston Academy took down Thomasville on the road 8-2, 9-6.
Defending 2A state champions the G.W. Long Rebels made it look easy sweeping Thorsby 15-5, 16-0.
Ariton swept Reeltown on the road 14-0, 9-4.
Cottonwood fell to Pike Liberal Arts School 15-0 in game two. The Patriots were forced to forfeit game one because of a pitching rule violation. Game three is set for 1 p.m. on Saturday in Troy.
The Kinston Bulldogs dominated Wadley 10-0, 16-0 on the road.
On Thursday night, Providence Christian swept Greensboro 15-0, 16-0 to advance to round two.
