Auburn pounds Purdue in 63-14 victory in Music City Bowl

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WIAT) — The Auburn Tigers are set to take on the Purdue Boilermakers Friday afternoon. The 2018 Music City Bowl showcases one of the best showdowns between two talented quarterbacks, Auburn’s Jarrett Stidham and Purdue’s David Blough.

The game kicks off at 12:30 p.m. CST at the Nissan Stadium in Nashville.

After what seems like an easy win for the Auburn Tigers, the program is now 24-17-2 in bowl games and 2-0 in Music City Bowl appearances. The Tigers scored a whopping 56 points in the first half alone breaking a previous record for 49 points in the first half against Chattanooga in 2003.

In addition, this is the fourth time in Auburn football program history the Tigers have thrown five touchdown passes. The last time this happened was in 2009 against Ball State. 63 points is also an SEC record for points scored in a bowl game.
