OZARK, Ala. (WDHN) — Carroll High School senior Bryson Dawkins made it official with University of North Alabama Basketball.

In his junior season for the Eagles Dawkins averaged 20 points, five rebounds and four assists per game.

He put up 30 points in the 2021 AHSAA North-South All-Star game.

Dawkins says his strengths are playmaking and reading defenses, but he is ready to bring anything they need to the team and his decision to sign with the Lions was an easy one.

“Out of all of the college coaches they were the only ones that really made an impact towards my life or anything like that,” Dawkins said. “Especially with a full ride. I don’t have to worry about my mom paying for college. It was the only school that reached out to my parents and actually talked to them. They put God first and it’s a very safe atmosphere it felt like.”

Before he gets to Florence Dawkins has one more year with the Eagles.

This season he’s excited to make a deep postseason run with his teammates and help out the younger players.

In fact, Wednesday Night he was fixing water for the freshmen team during their game at Eufaula High School just hours after signing a division one offer.
