COTTONWOOD, Ala. (WDHN) – A historic day for the Cottonwood Bears as a cheerleader signs to continue cheering in college.

Adrianna Phillips signed to cheer for the Faulkner University Eagles.

Her coach believes she is the first cheerleader in Cottonwood history to sign a collegiate scholarship.

Along with the athletic aspect, Faulkner stuck out to her because of the psychology program she’ll be joining.

Phillips has been cheering since she was only five years old and continuing her career for so long is a dream come true.

“I love it because it can teach obedience and you make tons of friends,” Phillips said. “I don’t even know how many new friends I’ve made. It’s just a big family.”

A natural leader on any squad, she thinks her leadership will help out her new team in Montgomery.
