COTTONWOOD, Ala. (WDHN) — Cottonwood’s Eli Herring will play college football at Faulkner University.
While with the Bears, Herring played both sides of the ball. On defense this past season he recorded 29 solo tackles, a tackle for loss, a sack and a fumble recovery.
At Faulkner, he will be playing tight end as coaches told him he has great hands.
He says he is hungry to get to work after being overlooked.
“It feels amazing right now because the recruiting process is tough,” Herring said. “I didn’t get my first offer until after Christmas, but as long as you stay true to yourself and work hard it pays off in the end.”
Herring says not only was Faulkner the right decision for football, but it is like a family due to the attendance size and they have chapel every morning where he can continue practicing his faith.
