ENTERPRISE, Ala. (WDHN) — Wildcats head football coach Rick Darlington has resigned.

Enterprise High School announced his resignation this afternoon and thanked him for his commitment to the school.

Darlington took over the Wildcats’ program in 2019 and has gone 20-14 during his three seasons in Enterprise.

He leaves the Wiregrass to take the head coaching job at Deland high school in Florida,about 35 miles north of Orlando.

Darlington is known for leading Apopka High School to a 167-47 record and to three Florida state championships.

Enterprise said they will look for his replacement beginning immediately.
