ASHFORD, Ala. (WDHN) — A disabled pitcher and coach will return to the mound after he was forced off last week.
Ashford’s 8-U Coke softball assistant coach and pitcher, Chase Carnley is back on the mound.
This comes after a complaint was filed to the president of the Dixie Youth Softball League, Obie Evans.
The president deemed Carnley being in a wheelchair a safety hazard, and the City of Ashford sided with the league due to franchising with them.
Therefore, Carnley had to coach from the dugout for a few games.
The Cochran Firm picked up the case last Thursday, sent a demand on Friday and it was negotiated by Monday afternoon to get him back on the field.
Carnley pitched a game Monday night in Headland and the next game will be on April 27th in Ashford.
