HEADLAND, Ala. (WDHN) — The Headland baseball team has named its new head coach.

Brett Birdsong will take over the Rams program from his father Bubber Birdsong who spent one year as Headland’s head coach.

Bubber stepped down as head coach of the Rams at the end of the 2022 season after leading them to the school’s first semifinals appearance since 1986.

Brett was approved as the new head coach at Headland at Monday night’s school board meeting.

Brett spent the last three seasons as the head baseball coach at Carroll High School.

He also spent time coaching at Enterprise and Rehobeth as well as spending the 2017 season on the staff at Wallace when the Govs won the region championship.
