DALE COUNTY, Ala. (WDHN) — A Dale County tight end had a big choice to make on Friday.

You might have heard of him, Christian Ross. The tight end for the Dale County Warriors class of 2023. Last season he popped off with more than 477 receiving yards, racking up three touchdowns with 53 tackles on the dark side of the ball.

You got more than six different offers, right? Some big D1 schools; Troy, Memphis, Vanderbilt and more Who’s it going to be?

“First and foremost, I want to thank everybody for coming out, ” Ross said. “For the next three to four year, my football career will be at the University of Memphis.

So Christian, tell me why Memphis?

“Memphis was the only place I took an official visit to and the only place that allowed me to take an official visit,” Ross said. “The coach was very genuine. It’s just a nice city and it felt like home.”

What really sold you on Coach Silverfield and Tight End Coach Brad Salem?

“Yeah, the contact we had every day, how he treated me when I was up there, just like, I didn’t feel that many other coaches,” Ross explained.

Well brother, congratulations once again on a very big accomplishment.
