DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The Houston Academy Raiders will host their round two playoff matchup.

Houston Academy has been successful on the diamond all season long.

The Raiders are 20-8 on the season and ranked the number six team in Alabama for Class 3A.

In round one Houston Academy swept Prattville Christian Academy 18-0 and 8-0.

Friday they’ll host fifth ranked Bayside Academy for a round two battle.

The Raiders believe they know what they have to do to get a win.

“Going out there and competing from first pitch to last pitch,” senior Sheldon Ott said. “I believe that we have the group of guys. We have a lot of seniors. We have a lot of people behind us, a large community that’s going to come out and support us onFriday night. If we come out and play how we are supposed to we’ll definitely come out and take home the wins.”

“Teamwork, all being together and playing as a team,” senior Walker Elliott said. “Our pitching is really good this year. Our hitting is good, our defense is good, but overall our teamwork and if our pitchers are on key and we’ll have a successful weekend.”

“For all of us just to work together and be a team I think we can do it,” senior Jack Waller said.

The Raiders host Bayside Academy at 5 p.m. on Friday.
