DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — The Raiders took home the Class 1A-3A championship trophy at the state tournament this weekend for the third year in a row.
Possibly the most impressive part is HA’s Mitchel Piedra, a freshman, who came out on top in both singles and doubles.
The team’s oldest player says it’s an honor to be part of such a talented team.
“All these championships, you know, as a 7th grader you think maybe if I can get one singles title that’d be amazing ya know,” junior Andrew Ayodeji said. “But to win three, and three in a row, I mean it’s something legendary I think. It’s really exciting, I can’t wait for next year.”
None of the Raiders are graduating this year so don’t be surprised if they take home the title again next year.
