NEW BROCKTON, Ala. (WDHN) — New Brockton’s Kierstin Sunday will take her softball talents just down the road to Enterprise State Community College.

Sunday hopes to play shortstop for the Boll Weevils, but will play anywhere she is needed.

Her junior year with the Gamecocks she batted .362, had a .416 on base percentage and 20 RBIs.

Her coach says she has consistently been at or near the top of her team in hitting and defense.

Sunday says the little distance from New Brockton to the City of Progress played a huge role in her decision.

“I get to experience it at a different level and be able to meet new people and play with them and see what else my future holds for me,” Sunday said.

Sunday adds ESCC Head Coach Clair Goodson made her feel at home with the Boll Weevils.
