REHOBETH, Ala. (WDHN) — The Rehobeth Rebels volleyball team defeated the Providence Eagles 3-2 Tuesday evening.
The Eagles jumped out to a two set lead thanks to wins of 25-23 and 25-16 respectively.
But the Rebels rallied back winning three straight sets by scores of 25-18, 25-21, and 15-10 to take the match win.
“If ever I had a team that could knock Providence down, it was this one. However, they are a sound, disciplined team,” said Rehobeth head volleyball coach Cassandra Leger. “You have to play great ball against Providence because they are not going to make a lot of errors. We had to match them, limit our errors, and take it to them. I told them we had the hitting team to do it, and we were ready. Providence beats people on serves, so we had to be prepared. My girls came out fired up; they wanted that victory. I’m proud of my team tonight.”
The next match for the Rebels is Wednesday, September 6th when they host the Carroll Eagles, and the Providence Eagles share the same opponent in their next match when they head to Ozark to take on Carroll in their house on Tuesday, September 12th.
