REHOBETH, Ala. (WDHN) – Rehobeth’s Makayla Peters is taking her softball talents to Gulf Coast State College.

In her junior year for the Rebels, Peters lead the team with eight home runs, had a .367 batting average, and a .919 fielding percentage, she had 30 RBIs, tying with another teammate for the most on the team.

Peters primarily plays third and second base for the Rebels and isn’t sure yet what role she’ll play for the commodores.

Peters says she can’t wait to be on the same team as other Wiregrass natives at Gulf Coast.

“I think I’ll bring leadership to this team,” Peters said. “I think I, for the most part, stay positive and I’ll bring a great atmosphere there. I know there’s already a great atmosphere in Panama City.”

Peters expressed thanks for her coaches and family for helping her play at the next level.
