REHOBETH, Ala. (WDHN) — Rehobeth’s Maurissia Walker will take her basketball talents to Lurleen B. Wallace Community College.
Her junior and senior year for the Rebels, Walker scored 325 points, had 199 rebounds, 105 assists, 148 steals and seven blocks.
Walker says the Saints’ campus, athletic department and close proximity to home drew her to the program.
The future saint has a message for younger athletes:
“Keep doing what you’re doing,” Walker said. “Don’t ever listen to anybody who says you can’t do it because you can. Always be there for somebody if nobody’s there for you and just keep your head straight.”
Walker credits her Rebel teammates with motivating her to get to where she is today.
