SLOCOMB, Ala. (WDHN) — It was a big day in Red Top country as Slocomb standout Jaylen Nobles signed to play ball at the next level.

Nobles will take his talents to Mars Hill University.

Nobles was a major playmaker for the Red Tops his entire high school career racking up 6,451 total yards and 90 total touchdowns.

4,716 of those were on the ground for 75 scores.

He’s played all over the field, taking over as quarterback his senior year.

Last season he had 738 passing yards, 1,128 rushing, and 193 receiving for 2,099 total offensive yards and 29 touchdowns.

Twice selected to first-team all-state, he can clearly do it all but he’ll play running back for the Mountain Lions.

Surrounded by family and friends as he signed, Nobles says he’s glad his hard work is paying off and he’s proud to be a Red Top.

“I hope I left behind a good legacy for everybody to know you’re always going to be an underdog, just to play hard no matter what and give it your all,” Nobles said.

Nobles’ hopes his time at Mars Hill will make him a more explosive athlete in every aspect.
