Three Headland baseball players, one soccer player sign to play at the next level

HEADLAND, Ala. (WDHN) — Multiple Rams’ athletes signed their National Letters of Intent today.

Two baseball players, Nathan Aplin and Tyson Kirkland, will be taking their talents to Lawson State and their teammate James Trammell is headed to Andrew College.

Soccer player Jacob King will be playing at Huntingdon College.

King is Headland’s first player to receive a soccer scholarship.

The boys all shared with WDHN, that this accomplishment is a dream come true.

“I just hope I can represent Headland well and all the kids and coaches that have been helping me so far,” Huntingdon soccer signee, Jacob King said.

“It’s a great feeling to know all the work that you did and all the people you played with, that you got to know, the friendships you made, it all paid off and ultimately got your college paid for,” Lawson State baseball signee, Tyson Kirkland said.

Soccer season is over for the Rams, however the baseball team hosts its second round playoff series against Holtville on Friday at 5 p.m.
