Michael Rinker talks with Brent Jones, Director of Athletics at Troy University

TROY, Ala. (WDHN) — Saturday the Troy Trojans will play host to the Sun Belt Championship game against Coastal Carolina.

Troy finished the regular season with a 10-2 record, winning nine straight games to end the season; ultimately winning the Sun Belt West.

Coastal Carolina ended the year at 9-2, their 11th game was canceled due to the tragic deaths of three University of Virginia football players.

Going into the last regular season game, Coastal needed just a win against James Madison to clinch home-field advantage for the SBC championship game.

JMU helped Troy out with a 47-7 win over Coastal. Troy took care of business against Arkansas State 48-19 to earn the top spot in the conference.

Technically, JMU was the top team in the east division but due to NCAA rules the Dukes are ineligible for the post-season after being promoted to the FBS level this season.

Kickoff is set for 2:30 at Veterans Memorial Stadium, the game will air on ESPN. Troy is currently an 8.5-point favorite Saturday.
