TROY, Ala. (WDHN) — Troy and head football coach Jon Sumrall have agreed to a four-year contract extension that runs through 2026 following the Trojans best season in its FBS history.

In his first season with at the helm Sumrall led the Trojans to a 12-2 record, Sun Belt Conference Championship and Cure Bowl victory over No. 21 UTSA.

The Trojans ended the season on an 11-game win streak, second only to National Champion Georgia.

Troy finished the season ranked 19th in the AP Top 25, its first-ever postseason ranking in a national poll and appeared in the College Football Playoff Poll for the first time in program history.
